Who it's for: People working in health and social care settings
Mountbatten provide a short course 'Caring for People Living with Dementia' that is suitable for people working in health and social care settings. The course includes a description of what dementia is and how it affects people (including significant others, family and carers), information on different presentations of dementia and current treatment options, how to apply compassionate management approaches that support the provision of person-centred care, explores behaviour as a form of communication and key strategies to help manage behaviours associated with the disease, as well as consideration of the impact of the environment and ways to improve environments.
